Now making their home at Eau Claire after a short honeymoon in the southern part of the state are Mr. and Mrs. Harvey H. Humke, whose marriage took place at the Methodist Church, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), on Wendesday, Nov 26, 1947.

The Rev. lee H. Holmes officiated at the double ring ceremony for the Greenwood couple. The former Betty M. Kenyon is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Kenyon and Mr. Humke’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. George Humke.

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Benz, the latter a cousin of the bride, were best man and matron of honor. Miss Jeanette Humke, sister of the groom and Miss Joyce Stoneburg as bridesmaids, Rachel Stock as flower girl, Paul Humke, brother of the groom, and Arlan Hubert, as groomsmen, completed the wedding party. Three grandmothers of the bridal pair were honorary attendants.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin gown with lace yoke and sleeves fashioned from her mother’s wedding dress. The full skirt extended into a long train. Her finger-tip veil of French illusion, was caught to a crown of seed pearls and rhinestones. She carried a heart shaped bouquet of gardenias fastened with net matching her veil.

The flower girl’s dress of white satin was styled with a chiffon overskirt. She carried a basket of rose petals and wore red and white roses in her hair.

The matron of honor and bridesmaids wore taffeta gowns, and the flowers in their hair matched the American Beauty roses which, surrounded by blue ostrich feathers and streamers, made up their arm bouquets. Mrs. Benz was dressed in a rose colored gown and the bride a maids in blue.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride and groom are graduates of the Greenwood High School Mrs. Humke attended Central State Teachers College, Stevens Point, and is a graduate of the Eau Claire State Teachers College. Mr. Humke also attended the Eau Claire State Teachers College and is now employed by the J.C. Penney Co., Eau Claire.
