Lyon, William H. (13 DEC 1853 - 9 APR 1939)

Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) - Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for William Henry Lyon, 85, who died of a heart attack Sunday morning at his home in Greenwood.

At 12:30 o’clock the Rev. P.H. Franzmeier said a prayer at the Schiller Funeral Home, and from there the body was taken to Alma Center, where services were held at the Methodist Church with the Rev. C.R. Gaylord officiating. Burial was made in the Stanford Cemetery at Alma Center.

Pallbearers in Greenwood were H.R. Baird, Adolph Schwarze, William Steiger, Morris Emerson, Albert Schwarze, and Harry Hogue. Pallbearers in Alma Center were Charles Ringrose, Carl Hall, Paul Chapman, Ben Gabriel, J. Ilaff, and Tib Wheaton.

At the services in Alma Center the choir sang two selections, "Face to Face: and "Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me."

Mr. Lyon is survived by his wife, one sons, Archie Lyon, Greenwood; three grandsons, Harold, William and Gerald Lyon, Greenwood; and a brother in Montana.

He was born in Oregon, Dane County, Dec. 13, 1853. When he was 12 years old his parents moved to a farm in Northfield, where he grew to manhood and worked for his father.

In 1901 he was married to Miss Luetta Gray Calvin, and three years later moved to Alma Center. In 1921 Mr. and Mrs. Lyon moved to Greenwood, where they had since resided.
