Appleyard, Patricia "Patti" A. (June 9, 1940 - July 17, 2006)

Patti Appleyard, age 66, of Rice Lake, died Monday, July 17, 2006, at her home after a lengthy illness and surrounded by her family.

Patricia was born June 9, 1940 to Carl and Beverly (West) Hasse at Eau Claire. She attended grade school at St. Patrick’s Catholic School and Immaculate Conception in Eau Claire and later Regis High School where she graduated in 1958. Patti was then employed by Piper, Jaffray & Hopwood in Eau Claire until her marriage to William Appleyard on June 8, 1963, in Eau Claire. Then they resided in Milwaukee and later Wauwatosa where she was employed by First Federal Savings & Loan. They moved to Rice Lake in 1968, and in 1976 they established Appleyard’s Home for Funerals which they have operated until the present time. Patti was very devoted to her family and loved life and people, especially children. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Thursday Afternoon Bowling League serving as its President for many years.

Patti Appleyard is survived by her husband, William Appleyard of Rice Lake; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Boyd Gilbertson of Rice Lake, and Krista and Jon Tillung of Rice Lake; a son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Lesley Appleyard of Madison; four grandchildren, Kailey Tillung, Ashley and Megan Gilbertson, and Evan Tillung; and by relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Hass and Beverly Bibeau and her stepfather, Leo Bibeau.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 22, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rice Lake. Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. Friday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals and for one hour prior to the funeral at the Church.
