Friske, Florence (20 JUN 1942)
The marriage of Miss Florence Friske, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), daughter of Mrs. Otto Friske, Rochester, Minn., and Hershel Edwards, Stevens Point, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Edwards, Owen, took place Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock at Trinity Lutheran Church at Loyal. The Rev. J.C. Langholz officiated.
The bride wore an entrained gown of white mousseline de soie ornamented with lace. Her lace edged veil, of fingertip length, was worn with a crown of seed pearls. She carried a shower bouquet of Talisman roses and baby breath and wore a necklace of seed pearls, the gift of the groom.
The matron of honor, Mrs. Milton Sebastian, sister of the bride, appeared in a blue ninon gown trimmed with lace. Her shoulder-length veil and headdress were pink and her bouquet was fashioned of pink and white carnations. Mrs. Henry Molle, sister of the groom, served as bridesmaid and wore a lace-trimmed pink ninon gown, blue shoulder veil and headdress.
Other attendants were Milton Sebastian as best man and Henry Molle.
Traditional wedding marches were played by Mrs. George Jensen, organist, and Mrs. Erwin Dux and Mrs. Leonard Noeldner sang "I Love You Truly," and "I Must Have My Savior With Me."
Baskets of peonies, roses, and orange blossoms decorated the church for the ceremony.
A dinner was served at the church parlors following the ceremony to 50 relatives and friends, and the reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Friske, brother and sister-in-law of the bride. The church parlors were decorated with pink, blue and white streamers, suspended from a wedding bell, and the tables were arranged to form a cross, in the center of which was a three-tiered wedding cake.
The bride was graduated from Greenwood High School with the class of 1930, and was graduated from the Wausau Business Institute in 1932. For the past nine years she was employed as bookkeeper at the John Wuethrich Creamery Company.
Mr. and Mrs. Edwards will make their home, following a wedding trip terminating June 29, at 513 Strongs Av., Stevens Point, where Mr. Edwards is employed as salesman for the Bake-Rite Bakery.
