Popowski, Dolores M. (April 6, 1926 - March 16, 2005)

Dolores M. Popowski, age 78, of Lublin, died at home on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 under the care of Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of Rib Lake.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin. Dolores’ son, Rev. Stanley Popowski, officiated and burial followed in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin on Monday, March 21, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Rosary Service and a 7:00 p.m. Liturgical Service.

Dolores M. Tomaszewski was born on April 6, 1926 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Rzeszuk) Tomaszewski. She was raised and received her education in Chicago. Dolores was united in marriage to Raymond Popowski at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Chicago, on November 25, 1944. They moved to Lublin, WI in October 1945, where they lived on and farmed his family’s farm. In 1976 they retired, sold the farm, and built a home in the Lublin area. Her husband, Raymond died on March 31, 1994. Dolores continued to reside at home until the time of her death. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening canning, sewing and crocheting.

She will be sadly missed by three daughters: Linda Popowski of Lublin’ Christine Popowski of Minneapolis, MN; Diane (Douglas) Malak of Wausau; four sons: Arnold (Lodzia) Popowski of Streamwood, IL; Rev. Stanley Popowski of Cut Bank, MT; David (Diana) Popowski of Columbus, WI; Allan Popowski of Bloomington, IL; five grandsons; and one brother, Ted (Wanda) Tomaszewski of Chicago.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond; two sons: Peter and Jerome in infancy; and one sister, Dorothy Tomaszewski.

Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
