Huberty, Albert "Al" W. (March 22, 1919 - July 8, 2005)

Albert W. Huberty, age 86, passed away on July 8, 2005 at the Cornell Area Care Center, Cornell, WI.

Albert "Al" W. Huberty was born on March 22, 1919 in the Township of Worden to William Huberty and Susan (Clerf) Huberty. He was raised in Worden and farmed there until 1946 when he moved to Stanley and worked at Heagles Woodworkers until 1949. He was united in marriage to Edith Strovers in September 1945 and later married Jessie Hubert in June 1981. From 1949 until his retirement in 1988, Al owned and operated several businesses in Stanley and Thorp. After retirement, Al spent several winters in Texas where he enjoyed growing roses and tomatoes. Al resided at Victory Memorial Nursing Home from 1999-2002 and then moved to the Cornell Area Nursing Home and remained there until his death on July 8, 2005.

Albert is survived by his wife, Jessie of Stanley; children: Charles (Grace) Huberty of Atlanta, Georgia, Nancy (Gary) Shilts of Chippewa Falls, Catherine Jeske of Holcombe, and James (Michelle) Ericksen of Stanley; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Linda Buss of Thorp and Verona Berdel of Stanley and several nieces and nephews.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, son Gerald Huberty, grandson Nathan Ericksen, brother Paul Huberty and his beloved pet Smokey.

Al will be remembered for his devotion to family and his love of playing cards, fishing, and watching the Cubs. Papa Al most enjoyed watching his grandsons play football.

Services were on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at our Saviors Lutheran Church, Stanley, WI with Pastor Alice Hamm officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery, Stanley, WI.
