Schmidt, Elizabeth (2 Aug. 1939 - 1939)

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Schmidt, 72, who died at her farm home in the town of Lynn, Thursday evening, June 8, after an illness of eight months, were held at St. Stephens Catholic church at Chili Monday morning at 9:30 o’clock. The Rev. Arthur J. Cramer of Bakerville officiated and burial was made in the church cemetery, cause of her death was attributed to dropsy.

Mrs. Schmidt, nee Elizabeth Madler, was born in Woodville, August 2, 1866. She was married October 13, 1889, to Walter Schmidt, who preceded her in death 25 years ago.

Since their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt had lived on a farm one mile east of Lynn, where their son, Frank, now resides. Another son, John, died about four years ago.

Mrs. Schmidt is survived by one son, Frank, on the home farm; four sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Rose) Kohl, Marshfield; Mrs. Mary Schuster, Fremont; Mrs. M. (Christine) Eibergen, Granton; and Mrs. Albert (Margaret) Marg, Lynn, and three brothers, Joseph, Peter and John Madler, all of Fremont.

Pallbearers were Toy Hormick, Sr., Charles Bladl, Adolph Kerhoff, A. Verhagen and two Luch brothers.

Flower girls were Miss Verhagen, Miss Peterson, Miss Schmidt and the Misses Kutsche.
