Mrs. Searls was born Sept. 13, 1925, in Granton, a daughter of Victor and Elsie (Buddinger) Krecji. Ruth attended school in the town of Granton and completed one year in a business school in Wausau.

On Oct. 5, 1946, the former Ruth Krecji was united in holy marriage to Harold Searls in Clark County. The couple lived in Granton on the family farm where they raised their daughter and worked until Harold's death in 1987. Ruth stayed on the farm until 2005 when she moved to the Memorial Home in Neillsville where she resided until her death.

Mrs. Searls was a charter member of Our Father's House Church and a Sunday school teacher for many years. Ruth loved playing cards, games of any sort, feeding birds, and she also enjoyed crafts. She especially enjoyed collecting rocks and sharing them with her family and friends.

Mrs. Searls is lovingly survived by her daughter, Janice (Steve) Ware, Blue Earth, Minn., and two grandchildren, Kevin and Kelly Ware, Rochester, Minn.
