Butterfield, Lorraine Leona (October 5, 1939 - June 5, 2002)

Lorraine L. Butterfield, age 62, of Thorp, died at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, on Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at 12:30 p.m.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2002 at the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall, rural Thorp, with Robert Ruprich officiating. Pallbearers were: James Kaz, Alfred Molly, Gerald Frese, Frank Jacque, Bernard Jacque and Wayne Habhegger.

Visitations were held at Thorp Funeral Home on Sunday, June 9, 2002 from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Lorraine Leona Schwartz was born on October 5, 1939 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Leo and Gertrude (Gilbeau) Schwartz. She was raised in Wyandotte, MI until a teenager, and then her family moved to Green Bay, WI where she completed her education. Lorraine moved to Milwaukee as a young lady and worked at Marquette University. In the early 1970’s she moved to Withee, WI where she was a homemaker and raised her two daughters. On August 11, 1984 she was united in marriage to Robert Butterfield at the First Congregational Church in Owen, Wis. They resided in the Thorp area until the time of her death. Lorraine was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Thorp and had many interests, but especially enjoyed gardening, her hobby farm, animals, crocheting and playing cards.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Robert of Thorp; two daughters: Ramona Kasmierski and special friend Richard Karlen of Boyd, Rosemary Kasmierski of Thorp and 6 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
