Schultze, Daniel George (January 26, 1900 - November 16, 2003)

Daniel G. Schultze, age 103, of Thorp passed away Sunday, November 16, 2003 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 21, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Thorp with Reverend Daniel Welch officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Withee, WI. Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Darrell Schultze, Roland Anderson, Loren Anderson, Dennis Zemski and Rodney Anderson. Visitations will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2003 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home and on Friday one hour prior to services at the church.

Daniel George Schultze was born on January 26, 1900 in the Town of Worden, rural Thorp, to Henry and Frances (nee Hinch) Schultze and was educated at area schools. He married Susan Fitzl on December 15, 1927. Together, they lived and farmed in the Town of Worden until 1941. They then moved to a farm in the Town of Reseburg until he retired in 1962. They moved to their present home at W7975 Cty. Rd. N under the care of his son and daughter-in-law; Robert and Dorothy Schultze.

Through the years, in addition to farming, Dan also worked for the Clark County Highway Department and he also helped his son Buck work in the fields to get the crops in.

He is survived by two children; Robert (Dorothy) Schultze of Thorp and Frances (Eugene) Herriges of Ranchester, WY; nine grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Susan, his son Darrell and nine brothers and sisters.
