Lehmann, Wilma (September 9, 1911 - July 8, 2005)

Wilma Lehmann, age 93, passed away July 8, 2005, at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls, where she had been a resident the past two years.

She was born on September 9, 1911 in La Crosse, a daughter of the late William and Augusta (Munske) Genz. Wilma attended La Crosse Grade Schools and graduated from New Ulm High School, New Ulm, MN. She also graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm in 1932 with a degree in education.

She married her former classmate at college, Victor E. Lehmann, on October 12, 1935, in Sparta, WI. The couple resided in Madison, Ixonia, Neillsville, Watertown, and since 1976, in Plymouth.

Wilma was a Wisconsin Synod Lutheran elementary school teacher when she taught at Hortonville, Madison, and Neillsville from 1932-1974. She was a member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church (Wisconsin Synod) in Plymouth. She was a member of the Lakeshore Miniature Makers, Golden Agers of Plymouth and a former member of St. John’s Ladies Aid in Neillsville, Wis. She enjoyed genealogy, writing and collecting antique glassware.

Wilma is survived by two daughters: Cynthia (Dick) Malon, of Columbia, MO, and Victoria (Jim) Vetting, of Plymouth; five grandchildren: Karen Aman, of Bridgeton, MO; Anders (Patty) Granberg, of Appleton; Tobin (Suzi) Vetting, of Sheboygan Falls; Joshua (Rebbecca) Vetting, of Plymouth; and Sena Vetting, of Plymouth; two great-grandchildren: Christopher Aman and Eian Vetting; one sister, Dora Matuska, of La Crosse; and one brother-in-law, Walter Lehmann, of Edina, MN. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor on May 28, 1994; four brothers: Walter, Alex, William and Ferdinand; and three sisters: Anna, Lena and Louise.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday afternoon, July 16, at 1 p.m. at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church (Wisconsin Synod) in Plymouth. Pastor Tim Kuske of Calvary Lutheran Church will officiate. Cremation has taken place and Inurnment will be in the Hustiford Cemetery in the Town of Hustiford. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 11 a.m. until the time of services.

A Memorial Fund is being established in her name.
