Sorenson, Mr./Mrs. Martin (22 JUN 1932)

Early Wednesday morning, relatives from Unity and Stevens Point arrived at the Martin Sorenson home to remind Mr. and Mrs. Sorenson of their golden wedding. Later in the day other relatives and neighbors came. During the afternoon, Rev. Aaberg of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) gave a short talk and Mrs. M. Sorenson, Mrs. Benson and Mrs. Nelson sang several Norwegian songs which they had sung fifty years ago. These numbers were enjoyed very much by those present. A delicious lunch and ice cream was served in the afternoon, after which the time was spent in visiting and taking snap shots of the different groups in the family. Those present were Mrs. Stina Nelson and Mrs. Evenson of Unity; Mrs. Inga Anderson and her mother Oletta Hanson of Stevens point; Mr. and Mrs. Nels Sorenson and daughter, Mrs. Inga Kuester of Minneapolis; Mrs. C.W. Sorenson, Mrs. Kraut, Julius Sorenson, Mr. and Mrs. C. Benson, Celia Jackson and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Sorenson received a number of gifts as remembrances of the day.

Martin Sorenson came from Norway 51 years ago and a year later Mrs. Sorenson arrived, when they were married and moved to the home where they have since lived. Mr. and Mrs. Sorenson were blessed with 6 children, Emil and Edward at home with the parents, Nova (Mrs. Jim Peterson) of Anoka, Minn.; Hendrick and Olaf of Milwaukee; Lea died in infancy. There are 7 grandchildren.
