Yach, Kay E. (April 8, 1949 - August 23, 2006)

Kay Yach, age 57, of Marshfield, formerly of Neillsville, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006 in an automobile accident east of Neillsville, Wis.

Kay Eileen Yach was born on April 8, 1949 in Wausau, the daughter of Ervin and Anne (Schenk) Stubbe. She graduated from Wausau High School and then attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. Aft4er graduation she worked as a substitute teacher at Cooper City High School, west of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Kay was united in marriage to Tom Yach in 1970. They moved to Wausau in 1982 and Kay began substitute teaching in Wausau and Stratford. Kay and Tom were divorced in 1984. In 1986, Kay was hired in Granton as the High School English teacher. She also coached Forensics in Granton, and last year she completed her 20th year at the school.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield. She was a member of NAMI and the NEA.

She is survived by three children, Michael (Jung Ae Kim) Yach and their daughter, Bok Hee Yach of Eau Claire; Julie (Dan) Wutke and their children, Danessa and Emma, all of Neillsville; and Brad (Christina Sharpe) Yach, of Stevens Point; her children’s father, Tom Yach, of Fort Lauderdale, FL; one brother, Robert Stuffe, of Merritt Island, FL; one Aunt, Verna Ackley, of Eau Claire; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Wilson, of Pennsylvania, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Patrick Wilson; an infant sister, Joanna Stubbe; and a sister-in-law, Marie Stubbe.

Funeral services for Kay were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 28, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis. Pastor Daryn Bahn of the Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield officiated. Music was provided by Jodi Rueth. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Casket Bearers were: Dean, Al and Tory Culton, Jesse Petersen, Chris Allen, Aaron James Elmhorst and John Stubbe.

The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Kay’s family with Funeral Arrangements.
