Brom, Robert Leon (September 6, 1941 - July 21, 2006)

Robert L Brom, age 64, of Willard, died at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, on Friday, July 21, 2006.

Robert Leon Brom was born on September 6, 1941 in Beaver Dam, WI to Floyd and Margaret (Rabehl) Brom. Bob was raised and received his education in Beaver Dam, graduating from Beaver Dam High School in 1959. He served in the U. S. Army, overseas in Germany, from 1961 until 1963. Bob returned to Milwaukee and worked as a printer for the Boston Store, printing the store’s advertisements. He was united in marriage on September 23, 1967 to Janice Denk in Milwaukee.

He later taught printing at the Milwaukee Rehabilitation Center until buying the North Mound Tavern, near Willard, and moving to Mead Lake in 1974. He sold the tavern in 1978 and went to work teaching printing at the Eau Claire Rehabilitation Center. Finally, Bob ran the print shop for the Lac Courte Oreilles Indian Tribe, in Hayward, WI, until retiring due to poor health.

He was active in the Mead Lake Association where he was a past president, and was one of the founders of the Greenwood Athletic Booster Club.

He is survived by his wife, Janice, of Willard; and two sons, Bryan (Tara) Brom of Coloma, WI; and Nathan Brom, of River Falls, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, at the Brom residence on Mead Lake, N10246 Lazy Lane, Willard, WI.
