Marian L. Lindow

CHILI -- Marian L. Lindow, 90, of Chili, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at the Franciscan Care and Rehab Center, Appleton.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Hansen Funeral Home. Mackenzie and Krista Maves will provide special music.

Burial will be in the Immanuel United Methodist Cemetery, Chili. Friends may call one hour prior to service time at the Hansen Funeral Home on Wednesday.

Marian was born Aug. 6, 1916, in the town of Fremont, a daughter of Charles and Lucinda (Happe) Lindow. She attended elementary school in the town of Fremont, attended Granton High School for two years and graduated from Eau Claire High School.

In spite of a handicap from birth, Marian lead a fulfilling life. One of the highlights of her life was when she got her drivers license and purchased her own car.

Marian worked as a clerk in the Clark County treasurer's office in Neillsville, Wis. In Marshfield she worked for Sen. Melvin Laird and later at Saint Joseph's Hospital. Marian retired from her position as a bank teller in the mid-1970s.

Because of ill health, she moved to Appleton to be near her sister, Caroline, and in 2001 she entered the Franciscan Care Center.

Marian was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Chili and Zion United Methodist Church in Marshfield.

Marian was an excellent seamstress, often sewing her own clothes. She also did embroidering and enjoyed making quilts. Marian loved music and often sang solos in her church. At many church services, Marian played the piano and her sister Helen played the organ.

Marian is lovingly survived by her sister, Caroline (Robert) Fitz Luebke, Appleton; a nephew, Gary (Chris Monroe) Fitz, and his children, Mariah and Ryan; a niece, Linda (Thomas Wolter) FitzWolter, and her children. Mackenzie and Krista Maves.
