Kostick, Marie E. (March 9, 1938 - May 11, 2006)

Marie Kostick, age 68, of Withee, died on Thursday, May 11, 2006, at Our Lady of Victory Medical Center in Stanley from complications of Multiple Sclerosis which she courageously battled for many years.

Funeral services for Marie were held at 11:00 a.m. on May 15, 2006, at the United Methodist Church in Withee, Reverend Linda Shearer officiated.

Visitation with family and friends was held at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen on Sunday, May 14, 2006, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and also on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Withee. Pallbearers were Frank Olszewski, Lester Himes, Allan Reud, Lester Martin, George Waller and Robert Durbin.

Marie Eyvone Durbin was born March 9, 1938, in rural Curtiss, the only daughter of Homer and Martha (Craig) Durbin.

She graduated from Owen-Withee High School and married William "Bill" Kostick on June 9, 1956 at the united Methodist Church in Withee. Marie worked at the Havenet Nursing Home in Owen for many years and later at the Withee Library as librarian for over 11 years. Marie enjoyed fishing and gardening with Bill, her flower garden, and car rides to various Wisconsin sites. She was an avid bird watcher and reader, and an excellent cook.

Marie was a loving and gentle person and will be dearly missed by her husband of almost 50 years, Bill Kostick of Withee; one daughter Janet (Paul) Neisius of Owen; three sons, Brian Kostick of Abbotsford, Barry (Mary Lou) Kostick of Ringville, KY, Bruce (Shanna) Kostick of Owen and seven grandchildren.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents.
