Salter, Jane (18 JAN 1889 - 7 NOV 1944)

Unity, Wis. - Miss Jane Salter, 55, of Unity, who for more than 25 years taught school in Madison, died at 8:30 o’clock last night at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she had been a patient since Friday, Nov. 3. She had come home from Madison the day previous.

Miss Salter, who was born Jan. 18, 1889, taught in Milwaukee and superior before going to Madison. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Jennie Salter, Unity; four sisters, Mrs. Belle Vogt, St. Paul; Mrs. Dorothy Stumph, Cleveland Heights, Ohio; Mrs. Elizabeth Eby, Los Angeles, Calif.; and Mrs. Marion Tschudy, Monroe; and two brothers, Arthur and Ted Salter, both of Unity.

Funeral arrangements have not been made.

Unity - Funeral services for Miss Jane M. Salter, 55, Madison teacher, who died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, Nov. 7, were conducted this afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, and at 2 o’clock at the Unity Methodist Church. The Rev. Arthur R. Oates, pastor of First Presbyterian Church Marshfield, and the Rev. M.B. Ferguson, Methodist minister from Colby, had charge of the services, and burial was made in Brighton Cemetery.
