Lindemeyer, Lucy (18 AUG 1885 - 16 DEC 1915)

News was received here the past week, that Mrs. R.W. Lindemeyer had died at her home, 398 16th Av, Milwaukee, Dec. 16th, 1915 of hemorrhage of the stomach.

Miss Lucy Henkel was born in this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.), Aug. 18th, 1885, where she lived with her parents for a number of years. After the death of her mother in 1902, she kept house for her father and brothers, until they went away to work and the home was broken up. After this she spent some time at Butternut and Park Falls, where two of her brothers were located. On June 24th, 1914, she was united in marriage to Mr. R.W. Lindemeyer of Milwaukee, where the couple have made their home ever since. She leaves to mourn her death, her father Phillip Henkel, and five brothers, Will John, Ed, Joe and Phil. She was laid to rest in the Wauwatosa Cemetery, Milwaukee, Saturday, Dec. 18th, 1915.

Lucy was very well and favorably known in this city and vicinity, where she numbered her friends by the score. She was of a very pleasant disposition and was inclined to always make the best of everything. Her early demise is to be regretted, as prospects looked bright for a long and happy life. But for some good reason the Allwise willed it differently, and the relatives and friends may find consolation in the fact that she has lived and contributed much to the happiness of others, who will ever hold her memory sacred. The husband, father and brothers have the sympathy of the entire community.
