Ligman, Helen (SEP 1915)

A pretty church wedding occurred in this city Tuesday morning at nine o’clock when Miss Helen Ligman, daughter of Mrs. J. Ligman of this city, became the bride of Mr. Arthur Merkel of Colby, Wis., Rev. Fr. Rolbiecki, pastor of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, pronouncing the words that united the happy couple in their journey over life’s seas. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Sophia Ligman, and the groom by his brother, Mr. M. Merkel. Little Mabel Ligman acted as flower girl.

Following the services at the church, a wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride’s mother, which was attended by relatives of the contracting parties and a few invited friends, including the members of the choir. The newly married couple left on the evening train for Milwaukee, Chicago and Bar Harbor, Mich., where they will spend the next two weeks, after which they will go to Colby, where they will make their future home. Mr. Merkel holds a responsible position with the state bank of Colby and is considered one of the coming young men of his city. (Mosinee Times)

Arthur expects to arrive here with his bride in time to resume his duties in the Colby State Bank Oct. 1st. They will be at home to their friends after that date, in the Maas residence on Division St.
