Sinz, Mae (25 DEC 1871 - 3 SEP 1915)

(Unity Correspondent)

Death came as a relief to a patient sufferer who passed away at the home of her mother in this village on Friday, Sept. 3rd, 1915, Mrs. Mae Sinz, Age 44 years. Mrs. Sinz, the youngest daughter of Mrs. L.R. Harvey, who home was at Burnett, was brought here four months ago to her mother’s home in our village. Shortly after her arrival, in company with her sister, Miss Ida Harvey, they went to St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield. Returning to this city, the condition of the patient grew worse. Her suffering was intense but with a determination and bravery, seldom if ever equaled, she fought for existence until on a spark of life remained. But few could have withstood the trying ordeals through which she passed and when finally the angel of death triumphed, she bade goodbye to the loved ones and the scenes of this world with a firm and steadfast belief in life everlasting. She was a member of the Lady Grey Rebekah and E.F.U. Lodges of this village, both orders attending the funeral which was held from the M.E. Church Sunday afternoon, Sept. 5th, Rev. Braddick officiating. The remains were taken to Tomahawk on the limited, Sunday night, and laid to rest by the side of her husband.

Mrs. Mae Sinz was born at Mitchell, Wis., Dec. 25, 1871. At an early age she was united in marriage to Adam Coey and for years they resided at Tomahawk, where Mr. Coey lost his life while on duty as marshal in that city, leaving his widow with two small children to support. Shortly after she moved to our village where she conducted the telephone exchange and a millinery shop, which she disposed of to her sister, Miss Harvey, to marry Dr. Sinz.

She leaves to mourn her demise, a husband, one daughter, Viola, and one son, Albert; her mother, Mrs. E. Harvey; one sister, Miss Ida Harvey, and three brothers, R.O. Harvey of Cadott, and Welis and Fred Harvey of this village, all of whom were present at the funeral. Her death is deeply mourned by a wide circle of relatives and friends.
