Warns, Henry F. "Bud" (19 June 1926 - 21 Aug. 2005)

Henry F. "Bud" Warns, 79, of 2874 120th St., Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie, died Sunday, August 21, 2005, at Cornell Area Care Center, Cornell.

He was born June 19, 1926, in Owen, Wis., the son of Jack and Ethel (Whitbeck) Warns.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a bodyguard and chauffeur for General Mark Clark.

He married Letty Seibel on November 4, 1950, at St. Peter’s Church in Tilden.

He worked at Sterling Pulp & Paper Co. for 18 years and was a maintenance superintendent/ supervisor for the Chippewa Area School District for 18 years.

He was a member of VFW Post 1038 and Holy Ghost Church.

He is survived by his wife, Letty; one son, Mark (Evie) Warns of Eau Claire; one brother, Jack (Jean) Warns of Abbotsford; one sister, June (Melvin) Lavine of Eau Claire; one brother-in-law, Donie Seibel of Bloomer; and one grandson, Doug.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at Holy Ghost Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Edmund Doerre will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie. Military rites will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, and until 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and dancing to Howie Sturz.
