Fiebig, Gilbert L. (12 FEB 1915 – 17 FEB 1971)

Gilbert L. Fiebig, 56, 341 Iroquois Avenue, Green Bay, died February 17, 1971 after a long illness.

He was born in Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.) on February 12, 1915, to the late Herman and Eva Fiebig. He married the former Wilma G. Peters on June 15, 1946, in Milwaukee.

Mr. Fiebig was in active fund drives in Green Bay and Milwaukee, was a former scout leader of Troop 134 at Jackson School, and operated a Sealtest milk route in Green Bay. He was a member of the Green Bay Curling Club and the Union Congregational Church, and served as chairman of the church's board of deacons. He had been employed by Dunn and Bradstreet Inc. for the past 25 years.

He graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1933 and Carroll College in 1940. He served in the Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Jon, Grand Canyon, Arizona; one daughter, Jane, at home; two brothers, Edgar of Sheboygan and Roger, La Crosse; one sisters, Mrs. Armond (Clara) Stephan, Sturgeon Bay. One brother, Alfred, preceded him in death in January of this year.

A memorial fund has been establish for the American Cancer Society or a revolving scholarship to Carroll College.

Visitation was held February 20 in the English room of the Union Congregational Church in Green Bay. Memorial services were held Sunday at 2 p.m., with Dr. Charles L. Bagby officiating. Findeisen Greiser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
