Stanley, Benjamin (4 May 1874 - 26 May 1937)

On Thursday, May 26, the death angel visited our community and took from our midst Benjamin Stanley. It came as a shock to the entire community, showing us all how uncertain life is.

Mr. Stanley was born in Princeton, Minnesota, May 4, 1874. He came to Clark County while a young man and bought a farm in the town of Eaton which has since been his home. He passed away May 26, 1937, at the Marshfield hospital after a lingering illness.

He was married to Sylvina Christie at Neillsville April 17, 1901, by Rev. Longenecker.

There were three children born to this union, Merrill of Chetek, Wisconsin; Leo at home; Lucille, (Mrs. Joe Lunka), Willard, Wisconsin. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, three children, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bostwich of Greenwood, Wisconsin; Mrs. Lenora Dahlquist, Wolf Point, Montana; one brother, Lawrence and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon with Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating and the body was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Mn 2nd vol calvary Dec 1863 to Dec. 1865? d: hennepen county, mn 1901 burried Oak Knol cemetery, Princeton, MN.? can not seem to find his paper trail to lead to his parents names.
