Galbreath, Bobby Eugene (May 13, 1926 - January 25, 2006)

Bobby E Galbreath, age 79, of Neillsville, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 in the Palliative Care Unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Bobby Eugene Galbreath was born on May 13, 1926 in Clark County, Neillsville, Wis. He was born to John Harrison Galbreath and Sarah Ellen (Woods) Galbreath. He had 12 brothers and sisters. Their names are: Milbourn, Mildred, Ada, Vernon, Vera, Eva, Holly Genevieve, Earl, Opal and Burl. His half-brothers were Orie and Glen. Bobby went to school at Irving Grade School in Shortville. He finished 8th grade and worked on a farm for Harry Kissling for two years.

He met Mildred Halle at the Neillsville roller rink. They were married in Neillsville at the Catholic parsonage. He was in the Army Air Force in 1944, with the 234th Bomb Group (B29’s 2nd Air Force) Denver, CO.

He has four children, Bobby Daniel (deceased), Cleo Jane, Kathleen Ann and Jacalyn Kay. He settled in Sharon, where he raised his family. He worked at Sunstrand Machine Tool in Belvidere, IL and he moved to Neillsville after retiring in 1981 with 30 years of service. His hobbies are hunting, fishing, gardening, flying and his family.

Dad has given us a wonderful childhood and shining example of dedication to family! We thank you for your years of labor and love.

Bobby is survived by three daughters, Cleo (Wayne) Peters of Elkhorn; Kathleen (Joseph) Hansen of Marshfield; and Jacalyn Crone of Greenwood; seven grandchildren, Anne Foley, Susan Ingersoll, Joseph Hansen, Julie Redman, Jody Bender, Jamasen Crone and Roberta Ann Slone; 20 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Burl (Jean) Galbreath of Loves Park, IL; and Earl Galbreath of Wisconsin Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; a son, Bobby Daniel; his parents and 10 brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services for Bobby were held Saturday, January 28, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis. Pastor Terry Baxter officiated. Interment was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, with Military Rites accorded by the Neillsville Veterans Council.

Honorary casket bearers were: Burl Galbreath, Earl Galbreath, Robert Kuhn and Jerry Cernik. Casket bearers were: Errol and John Hohmann, Steve Shrock, Justin and Scott Redman and Dave Bender.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Bobby’s family for designation at a later date.

The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Bobby’s family with funeral arrangements.
