Forman, Mary Elizabeth (18 Feb. 1860 - 1 Jan. 1937)

Mrs. Wheeler E. Forman passed away at her home in Neillsville, Friday, Jan.1, after a long and painful illness. She was a patient sufferer, and looked forward calmly to the end which she realized was approaching.

Mary Elizabeth Gergen was born in Waterford, Wis., Feb. 18, 1860 and came with her parents to Clark County in 1867, living here the remainder of her life.

She was married to Herbert Visger of the town of Grant on April 26, 1880. Three children were born to this union - Mrs. Milda Miller who died in the state of Washington in 1930; Gertrude who died at the age of six years and Mrs. Raymond Colby of Loyal, who was with her during her last illness. Mr. Visger died Sept. 15, 1920 in Oshkosh where they had lived four years.

She was married to Wheeler Forman on March 16, 1923. To mourn her loss are left her husband and daughter Grace Colby, two brothers, Ell Gergen and Vern Gergen of Neillsville; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Furlong of St. Paul and Mrs. Grace Lester of Minneapolis; also Mrs. William Glasow Jr. of LaFayette, N. Y. and Leland Forman of Minneapolis. There are 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Forman was a woman of beautiful character, generous of heart, willing to be of service to all about her, and met the difficulties and reverses of life with cheerful courage. She will be missed by her family and a large circle of friends.

The funeral was held at the home Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. Fleming of Loyal officiating.
