Geisler, Julius (21 OCT 1915 - 3 MAY 1978)

NEILLSVILLE, Clark Co., Wis. - Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville for Julius "Jack" Geisler, 62, Route 2, Granton. He died Wednesday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Madison.

The Rev. Gary Clark, pastor of the United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Neillsville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Sunday and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Geisler was born Oct. 21, 1915 in Neillsville, where he attended schools. He worked in construction business until entering the U.S. Navy.

After his discharge from service he worked in Sycamore, Ill. For many years, returning to Neillsville about 20 years ago. He was in the feeder pig business and operated a tavern for several years. He returned to construction and was employed by Tesmer Construction in Neillsville, Wis.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5768 of Sycamore, American Legion Post 73 of Neillsville and the Neillsville Gun Club.

He was married and later divorced.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Linda Kaisher, Denver, Colo., Mrs. Sandra Meadows of Sycamore, Mrs. Margaret Weinstock and Mrs. Cindy Lay, both of DeKalb, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. William (Katherine) Buddinger and Mrs. Erwin (Louise) Sternitzky, both of Granton, and Mrs. George, (Margaret) Turner, Neillsville; one brother, William in California; and eight grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two brothers.

Geisler, Julius “Jack” (21 October 1915 – 4 May 1978) With Flag

A rural Granton man well-known in the Granton and Neillsville area, Julius “Jack” Geisler, passed away in the Veteran’s Administration Hospital, Madison, Wednesday, May 4. Geisler, 62, was born to Julius and Margaret (Gangler) Geisler on October 21, 1915, in Neillsville. After receiving his education in Neillsville, he worked in the construction business until he entered the U.S. Navy. After the service, he worked in Sycamore, Ill., for a number of years and then returned to Neillsville approximately 20 years ago where he was employed in the feeder pig business and also operated a tavern. His latest employment had been with Tesmer Construction, rural Neillsville.

Passing away after a lingering illness, Geisler was a member of VFW Post 5768 of Sycamore, Ill.; the American Legion Post No. 73, Neillsville; and the Neillsville Gun Club. He was a World War II veteran, serving from late 1943 to late 1945.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs Linda Kaisher of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Sandra Meadows of Sycamore, Ill., Mrs. Margret Weinstock of DeKalb, Ill., and Mrs. Cindy Lay, also of DeKalb. They are joined by his three sisters, Mrs. William (Katherine) Buddinger and Mrs. Erwin (Louise) Sternitzky, both of Granton, and Mrs. George (Margaret) Turner, Neillsville. Also surviving is one brother, William of California and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank and George.

Funeral services were held on Monday from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Clark, of the Neillsville United Church of Christ officiating, with burial made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
