Steinberg, Martha (Marriage - 27 June 1936)

A very pretty wedding took place at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairchild, when Martha Steinberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Steinberg of Fairchild, and Ralph Jankowsky, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gust. Jankowsky of Fairchild, were untied in holy matrimony at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 1936. The couple were attended by Hazel Steinberg, sister of the bride, and Harry Jankowsky, brother of the groom.

The bride was beautifully attired in a white satin gown. She wore a tulle veil with coronet effect and carried an arm bouquet of talisman roses and baby’s breath. The maid-of-honor was attired in green organdie and carried an arm bouquet of pink roses and daisies. The couple marched up the aisle to the strains of Lohengrin’s wedding march played by Helen Gabrysh, a friend of the bride, of Graceville, Minnesota. Reverend Paul Buck performed the single ring ceremony.

The bride was born in Globe, Wisconsin and was educated at Neillsville High School and Dr. Martin Luther College at New Ulm, Minnesota. For the past seven years she taught sfhool in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The groom was born near Fairchild, Wisconsin and was employed in Chicago the past year.

A wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents to about 30 guests. The home was decorated with streamers of green and white.

Out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. William Maglin and daughter of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Jankowsky and children, and Mr. August Jankowsky of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Max Lange and children, and Mr. and Mrs. K. G. Lange of Augusta, Miss Freda Bartz of Minneapolis, Helen Gabrysh of Graceville, Minnesota, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Busek of Kenosha and Mrs. Anna Quast and Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Quast and son of Globe.
