Steffen, Myrtle Marie (April 23, 1909 - July 24, 1985)

Mrs. Myrtle Marie Steffen, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 1985, at her residence at 2620 Eaton Lane, Racine.

Myrtle Marie Mooney was born on April 23, 1909, to Halbert and Christine (Boll) Mooney, and had lived in Racine, for 40 years. In Kaukauna on August 6, 1928 she was married to William E Steffen. She was employed by Hamilton Beach Co. as an assembly worker for approximately 25 years.

Surviving is one son, William (Geraldine) Steffen Jr. of Warsaw, MO; three daughters, Betty (Joseph) Buscemi of Racine, Myrtle (Elert) LeClair of Racine, Bonnie (George) Rundell of Lake Forest, IL; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Schnieder of Port Richy, FL, Gladys McDuff of Villa Park, IL; two brothers, Wallace (Erdine) Mooney of Kaukauna, Robert Mooney of Los Angeles, CA; one sister-in-law, Eleanor (Gerald) Smits of Orange Park, FL; one uncle, Robert Dwyer of Kaukauna; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, husband William and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, at 9:30 a.m. at the Strouf-Sheffield Funeral Home at 1001 High St. Racine, WI with Rev. Daniel C Heinert officiating. Interment will be at West Lawn Memorial Park, Racine.

Relatives and friends may meet with the family this Friday evening from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to St. Luke’s Hospice Program.
