One of the most beautiful weddings of the season took place on Wednesday, June 4, 1913, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Straub, six miles southeast of Colby, when their youngest daughter, Inabell, was given in marriage to Mr. Herman Sommers of Marshfield.

Promptly at 1 o’clock p.m., while Mrs. W.W. Krueger played the wedding march, the bridal party marched into the parlor which was decorated with roses and smilax. The couple stood under a beautiful arch of evergreens, roses and ferns. In the presence of relatives and a few intimate friends the ring ceremony was solemnized by Rev. W.W. Krueger.

The bride was attired in a gown of cream silk marquisette over cream bridal satin, and carried a shower bouquet of white bride’s roses, and lilies of the valley. She was attended by Miss Cora Reinheimer who wore white embroidered voile and carried a bouquet of pink roses and ferns.

The groom wore the conventional black and was attended by Mr. Arthur A. Rondeau, a cousin of the bride. Little Iola Reis, niece of the bride, was ring bearer. She was dressed in a pale blue voile with shdow lace, and carried a basket of flowers and the ring buried in the heart of a rose.

After congratulations were extended, all took place in the dining room where an elaborate dinner was served in courses by the bride’s parents. The table was laid in white and gold smilax, carnations, and roses beautified the dining room.

The bride is a charming young lady and because of her social qualities has won a host of warm friends by whom she is held in highest esteem. She is a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Unity.

The groom is an energetic young man possessed of an amiable disposition and good judgment, and is highly esteemed by a large circle of friends. He has been a member of Co. A 2nd Inf., W.N.G., for the past 11 years. He worked himself up from a private to the …(the rest of my copy was cut off)
