Lloyd Albert Peterson was born on Feb. 23, 1913, on the home farm south of Greenwood to Albert and Esther (nee Bloomquist) Peterson. He was raised on the family farm and received his education at the Greenwood Public Schools. Being an only child, he spent his younger years on the Black River near their farm, swimming, fishing and hunting. On June 17, 1936, he was united in marriage to Josephine Raik at the Grace United Methodist Church parsonage, Greenwood. They farmed south of Greenwood on his home farm until retiring in 1980, at which time they moved to Greenwood. They enjoyed many bus tours all over the states and Canada and also traveled to Hawaii, Europe and the Caribbean. His wife died on May 6, 2005. He moved to the Angelsus Retirement Community in Neillsville in June of 2005, and resided there until the time of his death. He was a member Grace United Methodist Church. He had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandsons, and great-grandchildren, deer hunting, fishing, painting, carpentry work, making wood crafts, bowling and snowmobiling.

He will be sadly missed by one daughter, Jo Ann (Wayne) Voss, Granton; three grandsons, Jeff (Lee) Voss, Minocqua, James (Dawn) Voss, Neillsville, and Jerry (Stephanie) Voss, Appleton; and six great-grandchildren, Ryan, Erin, Sam, Miles, Ali and Emma.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Josephine; and one son, Jerry.
