Krepsky, Samuel (18 NOV 1905 - 24 JAN 1911)

Died, at the home of his parents in this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.), at 8:45 Tuesday morning, Jan. 24th, 1911, Sammy, the five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo A. Krepsky, of cerebro-spinal meningitis, after an illness of two weeks.

Sammy was born Nov. 18th, 1905, and was five years, two months and six days of age when he passed from this life. He was not as robust as some, yet was in good health, apparently, when stricken on Monday, Jan. 9th with the dread disease. It has been our duty, during our long newspaper career, to chronicle many sad deaths, but seldom one as sad to us as this. A dark gloom spread over the city when it was whispered from one to another Tuesday morning that Sammy was gone. He was of an affectionate disposition, bright and winning in his ways and indeed, it may be said of him, that "none knew him but to love him."

To the heart-broken parents, who sit in sorrow where his little footsteps shall never again find echo, we extend the deepest sympathy of this entire community.

The funeral will be held from St. Mary’s Church, Friday morning at 10 o’clock, Rev. H.J. Artman officiating. The burial will take place at Colby Cemetery.
