Parrett, Keith M. (30 DEC 1893 - 8 AUG 1975)

NEILLSVILLE, Clark Co., Wis. - Services for Keith (Tim) M. Parrett, 81, Route 2, Granton, Clark Co., will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home. Mr. Parrett died Friday at Neillsville Memorial Hospital.

The Rev. Gary L. Clark, pastor of the United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-9 p.m. Sunday and until time of services on Monday.

Mr. Parrett was born Dec. 30, 1893, in the town of York, Clark Co., and was educated in Clark Co. He entered the Armed Forces on March 26, 1917, and was discharged April 4, 1918, after serving with Company A, 128th Infantry.

After his discharge from service, he worked for the Seif Implement Co., until moving to Florida where he did electrical work until 1929. Returning to Wisconsin, he worked as an electrician at several locations. In 1943, he moved to Chicago, where he was employed at Downey Veteran’s Administration Hospital until his retirement in 1961.

He lived at Mercer for several years, moving to Granton in 1969.

He married the former Lois Hogan on May 2, 1926, at DeLand, Fla. She survives.

Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Nina) Thomas, and Miss Gladys Parrett, both of Neillsville; two brothers, Clifford, Wis. Rapids and John, Freeport, Ill.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A son, Eugene, and a brother, preceded him in death.

Parrett, Keith (Tim) (30 December 1893 – 8 August 1975)

A native of the Town of York, Keith (Tim) M. Parrett, 81, of Rt. 2, Granton, died Friday, August 8, in Neillsville following a brief illness. Services were held Monday from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Parrett, the son of John and Margaret O’Brian Parrett, was born December 30, 1893, in the Town of York and was educated in local schools. A veteran of WWI, he entered military service March 26, 1917, served with Company A of the 128th Infantry, and was discharged April 4, 1918.

Following his discharge, he was employed at the Seif Implement Company in Neillsville he moved to Florida where he did electrical work until 1929 when he returned to Wisconsin. Mr. Parrett did electrical work at various places; and in 1943 moved to Chicago where he worked at Downey VA hospital until his retirement in 1961. He moved to Mercer and lived there until 1969, then moved to Granton where he lived for the remainder of his life.

His marriage to the former Lois Hogan took place November 2, 1926, in Deland, Fl.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Nina) Thoma and Miss Gladys Parrett of Neillsville; two brothers, Clifford Parrett of Wisconsin Rapids and John Parrett of Freeport, Il.; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Jim Horswill, Wilbur Bardell, Robert Bardell, Ronnie Parrett, Joe Dietmeyer and Kenneth Parrett.

Mrs. Janice Mayer sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Beyond the Sunset.” Mrs. Iris Musil was the accompanist.
