Poler, Charles E. (21 AUG 1853 - 28 APR 1940)

NEILLSVILLE, Clark Co., Wis. - Charles Edward Poler, 86, died at 11:25 o’clock Sunday evening at the home of his son, Ollie Poler, in the town of Washburn, Clark Co., where he had been making his home since his coming to Clark Co. about 12 years ago.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the Schiller Funeral Home, where the body is lying in state. From here the body will be taken to Hastings, Minn., for final rites on Wednesday. The Rev. G.W. Longenecker of the Congregational Church, will conduct the funeral services here.

Mr. Poler was born in Omro Aug. 21, 1853, and was married in 1875 at Virginia, Minn. He resided in Virginia and Hastings, Minn. For many years, engaging in farming. Mrs. Poler died in 1926.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Bert (Myrtle) Durrand, Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. Nettie Snead, Omro; and Mrs. Frank (Hattie) Evans, Seattle, Wash.; two sons, William and Ollie, both of the town of Washburn; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Two daughters preceded him in death.
