Orthmeier, Conrad (18 DEC 1853 - 13 APR 1937)

COLBY, Clark Co., Wis. - Conrad Orthmeier, 83, town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis., died of a stroke at about 7 o’clock this morning at the home of one of his children. His death came unexpectedly as he seemed in good health yesterday, having recently recovered from an operation underwent last fall. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.

Mr. Orthmeier was born on Dec. 18, 1853, at Centerville, Manitowoc Co., Wis., and was married there to Miss Louise Rehme on April 9, 1880.

They operated a farm and worked hard as pioneers until 1916, when they came to Colby to make their home with their children. On April 9, 1930, they celebrated their golden wedding. They were both members of the Reformed Lutheran Church.

Surviving Mr. Orthmeier are one son, Henry Orthmeier, and one daughter, Mrs. Edward Dehne, both of the town of Hull. Mrs. Orthmeier preceded him in death several years ago, and a daughter also preceded him in death about 10 years ago.
