Weetz, Emma (26 JUN 1880 - 27 JAN 1946)

ABBOTSFORD, Wis. - Mrs. Emma Caroline Weetz, 65, a resident of Abbotsford the past 33 years, died at 8:20 a.m. Sunday at the home of her brother, Gustave Steinke, Joliet, Ill., where she had been visiting.

The body is lying in state at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ervin Bitter, where funeral rites will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock, followed by a 2 o’clock service at the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Abbotsford, Wis. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler, Dorchester, Clark Co., will be in charge of the rites and interment will take place in the Abbotsford Cemetery.

Mrs. Weetz, ne Steinke, was born at LaSalle, Ill., June 26, 1880, and was married June 10, 1903 at Jackson, Minn., to John Weetz, who died May 11, 1939. She received her education in LaSalle.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ervin (Adeline) Bitter, Abbotsford; a son, Clarence Weetz, Milwaukee; two brothers, Herman Steinke, Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Gustave Steinke, Joliet, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Melvin Bitter of Abbotsford, John Carl Bitter with the U.S. Navy in Okinawa, and David Peter Weetz, Milwaukee.
