Hattie H. Forman, 106, Neillsville, died at 6:25 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville, Wis. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 1:30 p.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Christie. The Rev. Daniel Cole officiated. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lee Bender, Dominic Bautch, Dan Herman, David Tyler, Wayne Greeler, and Donnie Pflughoeft.

Hattie H. Winkelman was born on April 9, 1899, in Watertown, to Emil and Amelia (nee Greeler) Winkelman. She came to Neillsville with her parents when she was 2 ½ years old. Since then, she has been a lifelong resident oh the Neillsville Area. She was educated at Happy Hollow School, town of York, and St. John’s Lutheran School, Neillsville, Wis. In 1917, she married Gordon Lavine. After his death, she married Wheeler Forman in 1940. He died in 1944. After his death she moved back to the farm. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She had resided at the Memorial Home since May 1999. She loved to visit with people and will be remembered for her optimistic outlook on life. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Christie, and an honorary life member of the Ladies Aide

Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Alice Lavene, Neillsville; three grandchildren, Bonnie (Roger) Bender, Loyal, Gary (Kim) Lavene, Neillsville, and Rick Lavene, Neillsville; six great-grandchildren, Lee Bender, Loyal, Lori (Kevin) Zais, Spencer, Lynette (Duane) Johnson, Colby, Lychelle (Matt) Tellock, Loyal, Brody Lavene, Neillsville, and Breanna Lavene, Neillsville; five great-great-grandchildren, Heather and Brady Zais, Spencer, Taylor and Devin Johnson, Colby, and Natasha Tellock, Loyal; and two step-great-great-grandchildren, Jason Johnson, Minneapolis, and Brittany Johnson, Colby.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands; and one son, Alvin Lavene on Jan. 22, 2000.

Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
