Schoenherr, Antonia (6 APR 1856 - 5 OCT 1928)

The funeral services for Antonia Mary Schoenherr, who was killed on Friday by a buck sheep at the William Mitte farm home at Globe, were held on Tuesday afternoon. A short service was held at the Mitte home at 1:30 p.m. and the regular funeral service was held at the Globe Lutheran Church at 2 o’clock, the Rev. Walter Motzkus, pastor of the Globe Lutheran Church, officiating at the services. Burial took place at the Globe Cemetery.

Miss Antonia Schoenherr was born in Brandenburg, Germany, on April 6, 1856 and lived to be 72 years, 5 months and 29 days of age. Her mother was Henrietta Schroeder and her father Carl Schoenherr. In 1887, she came with her mother and brothers and sisters to America and settled in Clark Co., Wisconsin, northwest of Neillsville, Wis. Three brothers remained in Germany. Miss Antonia with the remainder of the family settled on land near Globe and for sever years, Miss Antonia made her home with her brother, Erick Schoenherr. Later she lived at the home of her half brother, Carl Schroeder, and for the past nine years, she had lived at the home of her sister, Mrs. William Mitte.

Her death came as a shock to the entire community and a large number of friends attended the funeral to pay their last respects to one who had lived among them for 40 years.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Albert Lueck and Mrs. William Mitte, and by three brothers who live in German. Two sisters and one brother preceded her in death several years ago.
