A very pretty home wedding took place at the residence of E.A. Sherman, Saturday evening, when Miss Helen R. Sherman of this city and George W. Blanchard of Edgerton, were united in marriage, Rev. C.L. Andrews of Waupun, uncle of the bride, performed the ceremony. Prior to the service, Miss Mable Ennor sang a very beautiful solo entitled, "Love’s Coronation" by Alywar. The ceremony was performed before a beautiful bower of cosmos and ferns, the rooms being handsomely decorated with pink ribbons, chrysanthemums, smilax and candles.

At 8:30 the strains of Mendelssohn’s beautiful wedding march, played by Miss Rosetta Johnson at the piano and Roy Ennor, Violin, announced the approach of the wedding party. Little Eleanor Sherman came fist, bearing the ring in a white rose. The bridesmaid, Miss Sadie Buck of this city, gowned in pink crepe du chien and carrying a shower bouquet of pink roses and lilies of the valley, with the best man, Mr. Ottmar Falge of Manitowoc, preceded the bride and groom.

The bride was attired in a beautiful full gown of white satin, and carried a shower bouquet of bride’s roses and lilies of the valley.

After the ceremony an informal reception was held, refreshments being served by Misses Mable Ennor, Merle Raymond, Beulah Nelson, Winifred Nelson, Anna Clark and Irene Sherman.

Mrs. Blanchard is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman, and has always made Plover and this city her home. She is a graduate of the local Normal School and has also taught school at Colby, where she met Mr. Blanchard. She is a charming young lady and has a large circle of friends, who will be pleased to hear of her marriage.

Mr. Blanchard, who home is at Colby, is now practicing law at Edgerton, having graduated from the University of Wisconsin this year. While at the University he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, and was also honored by the conferring of the order of the Iron Cross. All who have the pleasure of his acquaintance speak of him in the higest terms as an able young man, and one who has a promising future.

Mr. and Mrs. Blanchard left on the midnight train for the north, where they will spend a few days and after returning here will go to Edgerton, where they will go to housekeeping at once, their home already having been furnished.

Lyons and daughter, Mary, Colby’ Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Vedder, Dr. and Mrs. J.B. Vedder and F.R. Upham, Marshfield; Mrs. A.O. Soule, Minneapolis; Mrs. A.D. Hall, Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. H.W. Wellington, Rindege, N.H.; Miss Maude Andrews, Escanaba, Mich.; Foster Smith, Grand Rapids; and Mr. and Mrs. O.J. Lutter, Milwaukee. (Stevens Point Journal)

The host of friends in Colby where George was born and grew up, will join the Phonograph in the very best wishes for the future prosperity and happiness of George and his bride.

MARRIED AT STEVENS POINT

Miss Helen Sherman, sister of Mrs. James B. Vedder of this city (Marshfield, Wis.), was married last Saturday to George Blanchard of Colby, the ceremony taking place at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Sherman of Stevens Point, Rev C. I. Andrews of Waupun, uncle of the bride performed the ceremony.  Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Vedder and Dr. and Mrs. J. B. Vedder, and F. R. Upham of this city were present.
