Johnson, Frances (23 Sept. 1861 - 1935)

Mrs. Wm. Johnson (nee Frances Piekarski) who passed away Saturday morning at Owen was born in Posen Province Poland, September 23, 1861, and came to America with her mother and two small children Joseph and Leona to La Salle, Ill., in 1881. The same year she was married to Wm. Johnson and lived there for a few years. Later in 1894 they came to Levis, where they bought land, where the daughter, Mrs. Mary Johnson Lenz still lives.

Several years ago her health failed and she has been receving care at the hospital where she passed away. A few weeks ago she fell and broken her hip that hastened her death.

Her husband died eight years ago last Janurary. Her children, James Leona and William are expected here for the services. All are living in Chicago. Mrs. Johnon was a very capable woman, doing much on the farm as well as being a very able nurse and mother in her home and the community. It can well be said to her "She Bath" Done What She Could," for many were the difficulties she encountered during her early days and when they began work on their farm here.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rev. Father Weber officiating.

(Follow on Note)

I checked and Frances Piekarski is Mayta Fordonski's madden name.

Mayta F Fordon was born in 1888 in Germany.

Fordon is a shortened version of Fordonski which was her birth name.

Her fathers name was Leuis Fordonski

Her Mothers madden name was Fraunces Peharski

Mayta Fordonski was the wife of Joseph T Johnson I who was born Joseph Polaskie.

Frances Johnson was Frances Polaskie or Pulaski.

This is my great great grandmother

The "(nee Frances Piekarski)" is incorrect the correct surname should be Polaskie or Pulaski she used both. Generally your information is better than mine but I believe this is incorrect. johnson_johnson_2001@yahoo.com
