Hull, Mary (14 MAY 1837 - OCT 1908)

The funeral of Mrs. Daniel B. Hull, who died Monday afternoon at 3:20 at her home at 720 Minnesota Av., will be held from the residence Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock, Rev. James Blake of the Baptist Church, officiating. The interment will be made in the Union Cemetery beside the graves of her children.

Mary Christian was born at Saranac, Clinton Co., N.Y., on May 14, 1837, and was therefore in her seventy-second year. She came to Stevens Point about 1856, and on Oct. 9, 1858, was married to Mr. Hull. In 1872 they removed to a homestead near Colby, where they spent 11 years. Since their return in 1883 they have continued to reside here and for upwards of 20 years have occupied the present home.

Mrs. Hull was an earnest Christian woman, one whose character was well worthy of emulation, and she was highly esteemed by a large circle of acquaintances.

During the past year and a half she seemed to age more rapidly than was natural and while she continued to attend to her household duties and did not complain of being ill, her friends felt she was in failing health. She has been ill for the past three weeks with the prevailing intestinal trouble which finally brought about her death.

The deceased is survived by her aged husband, who is 76 years of age, and by one daughter, Mrs. Theodore Parker of Bellingham, Wash. Frank Hull, who was adopted by them when an infant, and who was always regarded as an own child, resides here. Mrs. Hull also leaves a sister, Mrs. A.P. Vaughn of Bellingham, Wash., and two brothers, William and Louis Christian of Saranac, N.Y. She was the mother of seven children, six of whom died in infancy or early childhood. (Stevens Point Daily Journal)

During the eleven years that the family resided here, they were closely identified with all social gatherings, and held a warm place in the hearts of our old settlers, many of whom still reside here and will be pained to learn of this good lady’s death. To Mr. Hull we extend our heartfelt sympathy.
