Bennett, Celinda M. (2 JAN 1884 - 8 OCT 1907)

Celinda Mae Harris was born Jan. 2nd, 1884, in the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis. On May 15, 1902, she was united in marriage to Mr. Fred Bennett of Stratford. On June 5th, 1904, their little daughter, Pansy, was born, who with the husband is left to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate wife and mother. When six years of age she moved with her parents onto the farm where they now reside, and with the exception of one year spent at Stratford, since her marriage, reside there up to the time of her death, Oct. 8th, 1907.

Of a cheerful sunny disposition, Mae bore her ills uncomplainingly, and not even her most intimate friends realized her condition until in a critical state. All that medical skill and loving care could do proved unsuccessful, and a vacant chair and hushed voice is in the home; a narrow mound in the Colby Cemetery marks the last resting place of one who gave up the toils and cares of this world while life was yet in its morning.

Besides the husband and daughter, she leaves to mourn her early death, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Harris, one brother, Howard, living at home, and one sister, Mrs. Theo. Lavigne, of Hayden Lake, Idaho. Their many friends and neighbors sympathize with them in their deep sorrow.

Those in attendance from away were: Mr. and Mrs. Dell Thompson, Eunice Bennett, Mrs. Chas. Berry, step-father, mother, sister and aunt of Mr. Bennett of Stratford; Mr. Ed Hogden, Uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Ericson, cousins of Mr. Bennett.
