Hoppen, Anna (26 NOV 1880 - 19 JUL 1906)

Mrs. Will Hoppen died at the home of her mother, Mrs. Sarah La Budde, in this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.), on Thursday, July 19th, 190, of consumption, in the 26th year of her age.

Anna Mary Julia La Budde was born in the town of Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Nov. 26th, 1880; when about six years of age her parents came to Clark County and settled in the town of Grant, moving from there to Neillsville a year or two later, where they resided until 1894, when they removed to Marshfield, and one year later came to Colby. She was united in marriage to Will Hoppen of this city, Aug. 9th, 1902, and went to Milwaukee to reside, and later to Oshkosh. This spring she realized that her fight against the dread disease, from which she had suffered nearly two years, was useless, and came home to be cared for by mother.

She leaves two bright little children, a boy and a girl, her husband, mother and three sisters, Mrs. W.A. Henkel, Mrs. H.J. Blanchard Jr., and Miss Bertha, all living in this city, besides other relatives and many friends to mourn her early demise.

The funeral services were held from the M.E. Church, Saturday afternoon, and the interment took place at the Colby Cemetery.
