Shafer, Callie E. (23 DEC 1903)

A very quiet and pretty wedding took place at the home of Mrs. S.J. Shafer, Wednesday morning at seven o’clock, when Miss Callie E. Shafer, only daughter of Mrs. Sam J. Shafer, and Hugo A. Krepsky of this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.) were united in marriage. The Rev. Wm. Reding performed the ceremony.

The bride has lived in this city all her life and is one of Colby’s most popular and esteemed ladies. She is a graduate of the Stevens Point High School and the kindergarten department of the Milwaukee Normal School. She has had charge of the Primary Department of our public schools for more than three years. The groom is the only son of our hardware merchant, A.F. Krepsky, and is now a member of the firm of A.F. Krepsky & Son. Hugo has also lived here since childhood and is one of Colby’s best businessmen.

The Phonograph and these happy young people have grown up together, and it is with pleasure that we are permitted to chronicle their happy wedding. We earnestly and sincerely wish that their pathway through life will be most happy and will be strewn with natures choicest flowers.

The wedding was attended by only a few of the nearest relatives of the contracting parties.

After a wedding breakfast the happy couple repaired to the depot and left on the morning train for a short visit at Milwaukee, Sheboygan, Plymouth and Stevens Point.

Just thirty years ago on the day of their wedding the late Sam J. Shafer and the mother of the bride were united in marriage at Beaver Dam, Wis.
