Clarkson, Roxanne Kae (Marriage - 23 July 1977)

Miss Roxanne Kae Clarkson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Clarkson, of route 1, Dorchester, was given in marriage by her parents to Robert Allen Ayer, Columbus, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Ayer of Unity, July 23.

The 2 p.m. nuptial rites were performed by the Rev. Ronald M. Golz, pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Dorchester, with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler assisting at the church ceremony.

Miss Karen Dallmann was soloist with Gary Waldhart, organist.

The bride, carrying a colonial bouquet of yellow roses and baby’s breath, wore a traditional bridal gown of white nylon sheer over peau de soie in princess styling with full chapel sweep train.

Her headpiece held a veil of illusion.

Mr. and Mrs. Warren M. Ayer came from Appleton to be best man and matron of honor, respectively. Bridesmaids were Miss Marilyn Bauer of La Crosse, Mrs. Lester K. Willner and Miss Kathy Dallmann, both of Unity, and Mrs. Larry L. Schuh, Colby.

They carried colonial arrangements of peach, green and yellow carnations and daisies with baby’s breath and their chiffon formals had cape-effect design. The matron of honor was in peach and two of the bridesmaids were in mint green and two in yellow.

Serving as groomsmen were Denny Bloom and Brad Ayer, both of Unity, Kevin Clarkson, Dorchester, and Doug Ayer, Milwaukee, and ushering were Jim Dallmann and Ken Mengel, with Steve and Mike Clarkson as junior ushers.

The afternoon wedding reception and supper were at the Stetsonville Centennial Hall and the evening reception and dance at Unity Hall.

When the Ayers return from a wedding trip through the west and into Canada, they will live at Fall River.

Mrs. Ayer graduated in 1974 from Colby, Wis. High School, from which her husband graduated in 1968. He also is a 1972 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and is a junior high teacher at Columbus Junior High School, Columbus.
