Ristau, Mrs. Charles (? - 25 NOV 1904)

On Friday evening at ten o’clock, Mrs. Charles Ristau passed out of this life in a calm sleep, after an illness of two months duration. During that time she suffered from a complication of ailments but it was not until two weeks before her death that she was confined to her bed. To dropsy is attributed the most direct source of her demise. A family of eight children, the oldest a daughter of fifteen and the youngest a baby of one years, besides an adopted daughter, Mrs. John Moran, are left without consolation of a mother’s love.

Besides the children, two brothers, a half-brother, three sisters, a mother and a step-father survive. They are: Peter Adriens of Colby, Clark Co., Wis., and Nic Adriens of Appleton, and George Shortell of Colby; Mrs. Minnie Childs and Mrs. Henry Eder of Colby, and Mrs. Julius Wolf of Ashland, Oregon; and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Shortell of Colby. The funeral was held from Holy Cross Church, Monday morning at nine o’clock. (Kaukauna Sun)

Mrs. Henry Eder, Mrs. Minnie Childs and Peter Adriens and son John of this city attended the funeral.
