Schuette, Walter (18 May 1895 - 1961)

Unity - Walter Schuette, 67, route 1, Unity, died at 11:15 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield, where he had been a patient after suffering a heart attack Friday while fishing.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church at South Green Grove. The Rev. Jerome Wohlfeil will officiate and burial will be made in the parish Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Myre Funeral Home in Loyal beginning Wednesday morning.

Mr. Schuette was born May 18, 1895, in Kewaunee County. At the age of 14 he came to a farm in the town of Beaver with his parents. He was married to Lilly Raeck on Dec. 22, 1920, in St. Luke’s Church. The couple has resided on the Schuette home farm their entire lives. He was a member of St. Luke’s Church and a director of Hull Insurance Co. for the past four years.

He is survived by his wife, five daughters, Mrs. Carl (Elpha) Zarnstoff, Owen; Mrs. Wayne (Irene) Olson, Curtiss; Mrs. Franklin (Blanche) Zimmermann, Loyal; Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Smith, Loyal, and Mrs. Gerald (Constance) Uhlig; Sturtevant; two sons, Delbert, Unity, and Eldred, both of Unity; 20 grandchildren; two brothers, Lester Schuette, Unity, and Albert Schuette, Greenwood; and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Kuenker, Manitowoc, and Mrs. Arnold Witt, Gilman.

He was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.
