Horner, Frank John (9 Jan. 1859 - 2 Aug.1953)

Loyal - Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, South Green Grove, for Frank John Horner, 93, who died Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Death was attributed to a stroke and old age complications.

The Rev. Paul Dietz will officiate at the services and burial will be in Beaver Township Cemetery.

Beginning Wednesday morning the body will lie in state at the Myre Funeral Home until the time of services.

Mr. Horner was born Jan. 9, 1859, at Two Rivers, where he received his education. At the age of 18 he came to Clark County where he operated a farm in the Town of Beaver. At the time of his death he was living with his son, Charles, and family.

On April 17, 1883, he was married at Greenwood to Mina Meinholdt, who preceded him in death 27 years ago.

He is survived by three sons, Charles, Unity; Edward, Owen; Herman, Ypsilanti, Mich; four daughters, Mrs. David Pepin, Mrs. Chauncey Johnston, Mrs. Clarence Taylor, Miss Emma Horner, all of California, nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
