Klessig, Catherine (10 July 1883 - 1953)

Loyal - Services were held here Tuesday for Mrs. Edward Klessig, 69, Stanley, who died Saturday in Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley.

The Rev. William Baker officiated at services in the Myrs Funeral Home and burial was made in the Town of Beaver Cemetery.

Pallbearers, all grandson of Mrs. Klessig, were Lauren, Lyle, and Bernard Hintz, Richard Myhre, Duane Mandel, and LaVerne Johnson.

Mrs. William Baker and Mrs. Ernestine Hake sang "Earthly Treasures Vain" and "Under His Wings," accompanied by Mrs. Elwood Fischer, organist.

Loyal - Mrs. Edward Klessig, 69, Stanley, died at 12:15 p.m. Saturday at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley, after an illness of several years. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Myre Funeral Home with Rev. William Baker officiating. Burial will be made in the Beaver Town Cemetery.

Mrs. Klessig, nee Catherine Brecker, was born July 10, 1883, in Switzerland. She came to this country as a child with her parents, who settled at Vesper. They later moved to the Town of Beaver, where she lived until a year ago, when she moved to Stanley.

She was married to Edward Klessig, who survives her, on Oct. 3, 1898, in the Town of Beaver. Also surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Celia) Johnson, Stanley, Mrs. Walter (Alma) Hintz, Milwaukee; Mrs. Leo (Ann) Mandel, Boyd; Mrs. Ed (Irene) Myhre, New Richmond, and Mrs. Arnold (Eleanor) Molle, Unity.

Two sons: Leo, Minneapolis, and Norman, Milwaukee; one sister, Mrs. Henry Awe, Owen; two brothers, Frank Brecker, Loyal, and Adolph Brecker, Owen; 22 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren also survive.

Three sisters preceded her in death.
