Ystad, Lee R. (1914 - 4 NOV 2005)

Lee R. Ystad, 91, New Berlin, formally of Greenwood, died peacefully at his home on Friday, Nov. 4, 2005. Services were held in Brookfield on Nov. 8.

Lee R. Ystad was raised by his grandparents on a farm north of Greenwood. The home farm is now owned by James Turmquist. He loved his Greenwood home and enjoyed his visits with his beloved friends and family in Greenwood/Loyal area. He was a great storyteller and his tales of the life in the "old days" will be greatly missed. He was past commander of the American Legion Post of New Berlin, an avid sportsman and musician, a retiree of Schlitz Brewery, and a member of the New Berlin Senior Citizens.

He was the loving father of Patricia Schmidt, Leroy (Susan) Ystad, and Donald (Linda) Ystad; the loving grandfather of Kristin (Ed) Ksobiech and Michael (Cara) Ystad; special great-grandfather of Thomas Ksobiech, Nicholas Ksobiech, and Zachary Ksobiech; dear brother of Jeanette (Frank) Besele; and loved by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his beloved wife, Dorothy; his son, Gerald; and great-grandson, Justin.
