George Alger's dwelling house located in the extreme western part of the village burned to the ground on Friday night last. The fire was discovered about 11 o'clock but had gained too much headway to save the building. The contents were nearly all removed by near neighbors before the usually large crowd arrived. The loss to Mr. Alger is quite sever as no insurance was carried. Their fire is supposed to have caught from a large heating stove.
